Regular classroom programme

New Zealand classrooms are particularly suited for gifted and talented students when teachers make conscious decisions to implement The New Zealand Curriculum as intended. Provision for gifted students should be based on their assessed learning needs. Teachers need to apply flexibility to adapt instruction to individual levels. Classroom programmes need to be adapted to suit the particular learning needs of gifted students. The more highly gifted a student is, the greater the level of adaptation that will be required.
