Schools, Communities and Social Inclusion Colloquium
02 March 2012 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
Location: Otākaro Building, College of Education, Dovedale Avenue, University of Canterbury
This notice serves to draw attention to a one-day colloquium that will be held at the College of Education, University of Canterbury, on 2 March next year. Not far away really. It is a great opportunity to listen to and participate in a range of contemporary educational discussions that are innovative, interesting and challenging. Schools, Communities and Social Inclusion offers experienced educators, community leaders, psychologists and scholars an opportunity to consider pathways that are grounded in community-oriented frameworks that are research-based and culturally responsive.
As well as a dynamic programme the colloquium will feature a Prestige Lecture by an internationally recognised researcher. The colloquium culminates with a launch of the collaborative trans-Tasman publication: Schools, Communities and Social Inclusion
edited by Dorothy Bottrell and Susan Goodwin.
Take advantage of an exciting and timely opportunity to explore aspects of school and community engagement. Local, national and international professionals will share models of culturally responsive practice, from which key messages will emanate. This is a one-day, one-off opportunity.
