Secondary: Recognising and Realising Exceptional Potential - Two Day Series

Workshop One  

Participants will gain knowledge and understanding of processes and tools to support the implementation of change in their settings. Recognising and valuing the exceptional potential of learners through:

    • Establishing the impetus for change in order to further recognise the exceptional potential of learners
    • Developing shared understandings of what exceptional potential looks like in their community
    • Developing an inclusive and culturally responsive approach to the recognition of exceptional potential
    • Exploring the potential benefits of developing a collaborative approach to the recognition of exceptional potential within a localised school context 

Workshop Two 

Participants will explore inclusive and responsive approaches to the realisation of the exceptional potential of learners, including:

    • Mobilising student, parent and whānau voice and agency in the identification of needs and the creation of provisions to meet identified needs
    • Differentiated teaching and learning to meet identified needs within a personalised and holistic approach
    • School-wide organisational frameworks to support change in practice for improved outcomes
